we need to research and develop cleaner fuels and help reduce Co2 emmisions. we need to plant more tree's and stop cutting tree's down. especially as most people now use a computer, why did the idea of the "paper-less office go too?"

Next, we need to work on deforestation. Another easily solvable problem. The only thing EVER standing in the way is politics.
Just about every pothead in the world knows that deforestation can be solved by the farming of hemp. This idea also hasn't caught on because of political lobbying and an ignorant public opinion.
Hemp is not Pot people! Yes, it comes from the same plant, but you can't smoke a wad of hemp paper! Well, you can, but would only succeed in damaging your lungs. Sorry people, you can't get high from hemp.
If all of our paper was made from hemp, there is a very good chance that deforestation would slow to rate where tree farms could keep up.
I'll get back to this thread later to quote some "anti-hemp" propoganda. I'm sure you'll find the anti-hemp quotes 3-year-oldish and stupid.
ALL of our environmental problems are solvable. I see 2 main problems.
1. Government corruption. Lobbying needs to be made illegal. It gives big business an unfair advantage. Even if you are lobbying for a good cause, you won't win because money ALWAYS wins. Lobbying has effectively ruined good decision making in the government where I live (the usa).
2. Lack of Unity On Our Part. Everybody wants to start their own "cause" or organization. Stop doing that! Somebody else has already started your cause. Join them. Don't start your own unless you have alot of political clout. The more organizations there are, the less power each individual one has. Try to get similar organizations to unite. The only way to beat big business is to become big business.

Hydrogen Generators. They're easy to build, run on tap water, take almost no electricity and are readily available (for build-it-yourself-kits). The problem is economic collapse, mainly for oil and utility companies. They would adjust eventually. The companies themselves would dissolve, but the actual people would adjust and jump on the hydrogen bandwagon. As for all of the unemployed oil workers. They can get jobs in the hydrogen industry. I think global warming is a bigger issue that the wallets of the fat cats of oil. The only reason it's not catching on is that people think it's too good to be true. Big oil uses fear and intimidation to prevent this technology from spreading (so say it's inventors and promoters, who I believe). The technology is not new. It's common knowledge in the scientific community. Well, it's true. I think that's all I'm allowed to say here, so PM me if you want to know more.
The real issue- What more important?
-unemployed oil workers? or
-reducing world emissions by almost 100%
I think we can have both. A tax increase to help out unemployed oil workers + free fuel forever = you still save alot of money & the environment gets a bail out. The only people that I think would suffer in the long run is the Fat Cats of big oil. They would have to fund the majority of switch to hydrogen.
They would have to settle for a life of "middle-luxury". They don't want millions, they want billions. Tough.

Everybody just don't use any oxygen for a day, and don't drive your cars and don't use any electricity.

The planet doesn't need saving. It will get along just fine without us. It did for quite a while...

Don't say that, you'll ruin the best excuse the Left has for bigger gov't and more taxes.

Stop illegal logging? Let the wood go to waste while they let forest fires burn?
