What's in your wallet?
This is a survey to find out the people's favorite choice of credit cards. Recently, I was talking to my neighbor about which card is the best. He told me that he thought American Express was the best. I thought this subject might make for a good discussion here at V7. Your thoughts anyone...
Which is your favorite? (MasterCard/Visa/Discover/American Express)
I prefer the MasterCard.

I had a bad experience with credit several years back through circumstances pretty much out of my control - now I only use debit. I've been totally debt free for 2-3 years, and I'm more than happy with that arrangement.

VISA! That's because it's international.

I have no credit cards. I paid them off a few years ago, and closed the accounts. I do have two debit cards though. One for my bank account and one for my PayPal account. One is a MasterCard and the other is a VISA.

A small map of Iraq that I purchased on eBay from a Mr. Hussein that contains diagrams labelled WMD and quantities next to it.
Still trying to work out what it all means

I have a Visa debit card... but really only use that account to save money for rent
I have a Visa Platinum credit card with an abnormally high credit line ( !), but I've never used it. I've had it for about 6 months.

No personal credit cards at this point I am trying to avoid them since I've seen others rack up the debt with them even when they said they were only going to use them for emergencies

Stay away from most cards, but if you need one, get one you prepay. Can't do too much damage that way.

I prefer Visa but they are all pretty much the same the major ones anyway.
If you can pay the balance off as soon as you are billed then they are worth having and can be convenient if you are not carrying lots of cash.

Amex is certainly not the best when you've got a dispute, they just let you down.
I found Visa, Mastercards and Discover the best.

I once had Citi… Visa, and man did they let me down.
I also had a MasterCard, and Capital… worked with me very well.
-Wow, now I sound like a spokesperson! -
Thus, I prefer MasterCard.
