This world is hard for me to understand
The truth, they say, is often stranger than fiction. Well the truth is, there are some things I come across that I just can't get my head around.
For instance, would you let your boyfriend take you out for a walk wearing a leash? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/bradford/7204543.stm
Of course the bus company throwing them off because they were a danger to other passengers seems just crazy in its own way. If they don't want people like that on their bus they should just say so, they shouldn't have to come up with some silly trumped up excuse.
If there is something you can't get your head around, why not post it here, maybe someone can help us come to terms with life's craziness.

quote: Our primary concern is passenger safety and while the couple are very welcome to travel on our buses, we are asking that Miss Maltby remove her dog lead before boarding the bus.
It could be dangerous for the couple and other passengers if a driver had to brake sharply while Miss Maltby was wearing the lead. /quote
Sounds reasonable to me.

Lol atom
No but on a serious note, people are just weird... Like in general.
Nothings ever crazy... Its just not something youre used to (along with most people in this matter lol) but if you went to a country where they eat grass all day everyday. You would think that was crazy, true? But they would think you were crazy for eating food...
Think about it... Nothings ever normal nor crazy... Just unusual to a specific persons usual experiences

Quite frankly, if shes being asked to remove the leash and both refusing disregarding not only her own safety but the other passengers, then they're a pair of idiots.
They're quick to scream discrimination because they haven't been allowed on 2 buses (2 out of God knows how many), but I wonder who the boyfriend would blame if the bus did brake suddenly, they were standing, and he ends up choking her

Live and let live ... but! For argument's sake ...
Dogs are allowed on buses. Do they have to be on a leash or not?
People have died fighting for the freedom to ..., what, have slaves?

"Live and let live". Great concept, but apparently there are not many people who really understand the meaning.
I read that article too, and was amazed that bus driver didn't get sacked immediately, and that "safety" argument is rediculous, as if that guy wouldn't drop that leach out of his hands immediately when the bus had this supposed sudden break and he feels tention on it. And that "safety for other passengers" is just as rediculous.
And depending on the country, mostly dogs are mandated to be on a leach in busses, funny enough that's for the safety of other passengers.

Would you say that it is reasonable for a restaurant owner to have a sign that says that shirts and shoes are required to enter?

It seems to me that what society has become, breaches the bounds of reasonability in several instances.

I had a thought ...
If you came across these two sitting on a bus, how would you know if she needs rescuing or not.
And is there actually a law against someone having someone else on a leash? Bet nobody ever thought it would be necessary to pass a law allowing or disallowing that.
I guess what goes on in someone's home between consenting adults is one thing, but in public it is quite a different thing entirely. I was thinking if I could explain it to my little boy if we came across a couple so entwined. I wouldn't know where to begin.

Hamster prices triple in China http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asi...ic/7240468.stm
Hamsters have become the must-have pet in China since the Year of the Rat began on 7 February.
Pet shop owners say stocks are running low - and prices high - as children clamour for a furry friend.
I don't get it, why keep rats? Like the world don't have enough of the blighters.

LOL SITA!
I understand your predicaments as much as we wanted to understand what has been with these rats on a Chinese perspective...
Well, you just have to comprehend that people for some reason and for varying level have their own weirdness and craziness! That's in fact make them more human...
So long that you're not harm with these crazy ideas & acts of people, you'll be fine! lol

or they just like to make fun out of those passengers honestly
I can't see the reason why the passengers should get alarmed by this..
those couples were making a not so fine play..

Walking on the streets and boarding buses with the chain on a human being and not a pet seems to be just so weird to me but as long as they are not causing trouble to anyone it should be fine.
IMO these kind of weird things if observed by kids can have a bad effect on their minds and should be discouraged in public places.

rats are considered a symbol of good luck and wealth in both China and Japan. Clever and quick-witted, the Rat of the Chinese Zodiac is utterly disarming to boot. Possessed of excellent taste, this Sign flaunts its style at every turn. Its natural charm and sharp, funny demeanor make it an appealing friend for almost anyone. The Rat likes to know who is on its side and will treat its most loyal friends with an extra measure of protection and generosity.
