I have the socially debilitating habits of neither smoking nor drinking. I can say without hesitation that not drinking has cost me friendships. But if that was it was all about, it there probably wasn't much there to begin with. Oh yup.

I find that some people take offense if they're drinking and I say "no thank you." I have no problem with other people drinking, but they probably assume I'm a puritan since I don't. Truth is, I have diabolical alcoholism on both sides of my family. Doctors and family members have told me to stay away. So I do. By the way, if you don't drink ex-alcoholics make great friends.

There is nothing wrong with drinking in moderation and as long as you are not breaking a personal beliefs.

I know there's been some amazing medical developments but, isn't that needed to live?

Since I moved abroad, I drink mostly quality Trappist [Wikipedia] beers from Belgium.

These are made by Monks

The 48th chapter of the Rule of Benedict states "You are only really a monk when you live from the work of your hands."

Thus

In Belgium and the Netherlands, some of the monasteries brew beer both for the consumption of the monks and for sale to the general public. Trappist beers have become quite famous and are considered by many beer critics to be amongst the finest in the world

My favourite is Rochefort 10 [RateBeer] which measures in at a nice 11.3%, bottled Just one of these heavy sediment beers gets me merry (it settles in the stomach).

Well I don't have a link to post, but I smoke Bugler tobacco. It's blended with Turkish tobacco. It's really a very excellent tobacco.

I do not advise anyone to start smoking tobacco. It's extremely addictive and causes disease in many cases after several years of use.

I have a 450 dollar cigarette rolling machine. I buy Bugler tobacco by the 6 oz can, I order it online and I've been getting at least 10 cans at a time, 10 bucks a can. I save a lot of money rolling my own.

Most unfortunately I dip (smokeless tobacco). It has much much more nicotene than a ciarette... I highly recommend staying very very very very far away from it. If my girlfriend ever found out it would be a disaster.
