New born baby flushed away on train

Depending on how you look at it, this is one lucky baby! Amazing story!

A newborn baby survived falling from the toilet of a moving train just moments after her unexpected birth in India.

The mother, called Bhuri, was travelling on an overnight train near Ahmadabad, in the state of Gujarat, when she gave suddenly birth, reports the Times of India.
Toilets on Indian trains are usually simple holes through to the tracks, and the baby - who weighs barely 3lb - was small enough to slip straight through.
"She fell unconscious and the baby fell through the toilet," said Mr Kumar.

Wow, I can say so many things, but I wont...

Partly because i will get negative rep and infractions, and because my father is Indian!

It was premature so obviously unexpected and I believe she passed out. I honestly can't believe the child survived.

That is a pretty amazing story. I read a small blurb about it in a newspaper.

Maybe ripped? If she wasn't expecting and they are traveling in a train where the toilets open onto the tracks, I would guess it was ripped. I believe I remember reading they found her passed out with blood all over here.

Possible. I'm not an umbilical cord expert. Just thinking.

The umbilical cord is connected to the placenta of course, and that is suppose to come out too. I hope it didn't all get ripped out.

How soon after birth does the afterbirth get expelled? I should know this, having kids everywhere...

Delivers itself naturally within a few minutes of the baby, may take up to 30 minutes. Yanking on the umbilical cord could be very dangerous and cause major, life threatening, bleeding.
