I see you noticed the recent video about Ebay and why people are boycotting them.
Yes it's true. As far as eBay goes, right now the company is going down fast, especially since Meg left and this new CEO took charge. He does not have much use for the community, and is trying to get as money as he can from eBay name. He literally has very little respect for the people that built the business for them. So as a result people are very upset. But eBay is trying to put on a strong face, and so when the Boycott was going on, eBay was padding it's listings by using fake accounts to keep the website appear like it's going strong. In a couple weeks I hear there is going to be another boycott, so I will not be surprised to see ebay doing listing padding again, even though the last time they were reported for doing it to the FTC.
The problem with switching from Paypal, especially with a e-commerce, is that it's usually a bad idea to not offer it. The word / name Paypal has become a strong enigma in the world of e-commerce that people have come to associate it with trust. Even though this is far from the truth. I run two e-commerce sites and more then 90% of my visitors will only click and use Paypal, even though I offer CDG merchant and Google Checkout.
Over all ebay has slipped and it's a good time for a new company to step up, but the question is, will another market place be able to capture market share like eBay did. If anyone is curious about the video we are talking about you watch,
