Its not as much as you think. Compared to a millionaire 50 years ago you would need to have 6 or 7 millions to live the same kind of life style. Pounds sterling that is, so dollars, you are talking about 12 to 14 millions.

Considering you are advised to save upwards of 800,000 to get a half decent pension for retirement, the fancy cars and around the world holidays seems an extravagant waste of money.

I'd probably invest it in the housing market in the UK. Over the last 30 years it has outstripped the returns from stocks and shares by some margin.
