I have seven kids (3 stepsons, 4 daughters). I got the odd spanking when I was a kid, never did me any harm and all my kids (except the youngest who's only four months old!) do too. Sometimes the only way to get them to stop doing something is a quick stinging slap - only ever on the leg, bottom or back of hand, mind you.
I think when you hear people talking about how spanking is wrong, it's usually the people who don't have any kids or who only have one angel who never misbehaves who's saying it. Try coping with three screaming terrors in the middle of a shopping centre while trying to get the weeks groceries, juggle a baby and two of them running around and then tell me that a quick smack is wrong
