Ok. I'm lightening up. I put on a wacky chicken outfit. Wow does it achieve maximum wackiness. I even have big feet. And a beak. With one of those gobble things. Look at it wiggle as I type. Bock bock.
Bock bock?
Isn't it funny?

Thankfully, marriage isn't forever.
If it were, I would STILL be in hell.

Well...I hope my marriage is forever.
Being married to Owen is the most wonderful experience ever. I have been married almost 8 years and it feels like only 8 days. I am still in love with him almost as much as the day I realised I was in love with him (14 years ago), and I love him more each day!
Long may it last!

Marriage? Seems like a jail to me. Lots of never ending problems. But here it is supposed to be forever.

And as the perfect partner does not exist, your answer is no?

There is no "perfect partner"
Marriage only works if both parties work at making it work. (if that make sense...) It's when one or the other drops the ball that causes marriage to fail.

There is such a thing as a perfect partner. They are few and far between but they do exist. You are right that in a marriage you both need to be perfect partners but it can happen.
And (using your example) it is when one drops the ball and the other helps pick it back up, that makes it a perfect partnership.
It is about give and take. Sometimes one partner picks up the dropped ball and sometimes the other. Just because a ball falls, does not mean that the game is over.
And you know the saying.... it takes 2 to tango!

Agreed! However, after picking up the ball for the 1000th time, I got to the point where I just threw it over my shoulder while walking away.
Hmm... I know I am being quite vague here, but I'm going to keep my dirty laundry to myself. lol

Fair enough.... there is a point where it can becomes pointless to keep picking up the ball!!
I must say I always feel amazingly lucky to have my husband.

Marriage IS forever if you have found your soul mate, and that person WILL make you mad, push your buttons and get on your last nerves. I have found my soul mate and I am beyond proud and excited about my marriage and love everything about it.

Eventually one of you has to die, which seems to end the forever concept ...

I would like to believe that the marriage could last forever.
In marriage I understand that the couple is together internally and externally
Some can try to preserve the marriage no matter what price they have to pay, no matter if there is love or no.
Everything depends on the partners.
If marriage is based only sexual attraction, fear of being alone and without taking into account emotional part, compatibility factor i.e. things you have in common, then it won't last long time.
Couples need to find (new) challenges in their relationship and try to know each other in more deeply.
