How far have you traveled to see a concert?

I have always lived near a 'metropolis', so fer me, not that far...

But I did hitch-hike when I was 17 to see Willie Nelson in Austin, which at the time, and I am sure, still is, about 200 mile.

Worth every crazy human I met along the way...

I traveled about 6 hours to see a band that I don't even remember. The audience and scene turned out far more interesting than the stage show. Along the way I stayed at a stranger's house - a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a ninth cousin. The entire six hours were spent in the backseat of a tiny car trying to filter out the couple in the front seat making out like crazed weasels. I'll never forget that lamprey-esque sucking sound. Hmmm... not a great memory now that those neurons are fizzing again...

Then about a month later the band we went on an odyssey to see came to my city - about a 10 to 20 minute drive. That makes about as much sense as the rest of it, I guess.

I drove 8 hours to NYC to see Oasis in 2005, and about 5 hours to see Oasis in Toronto in 2002. I'm planning to make the Toronto trek again this Sept. for the same band, and maybe I'll hit up some other cities too. I was supposed to go to LA a couple years ago too, but something came up last minute and I had to eat cost of the tickets.

I'm obsessed, I know

I went from Athens to Thessaloniki (a distance a bit bit bigger than 500 km) to see my favourite hip hop band, 2 months back.

I live in the UK (England). I've lived in Australia (Perth). I also stayed a few months in Texas (Dallas) and I've lived in Serbia in the former Yugoslavia, and been round most of Europe.

70 miles. That's it. I went to see an all day concert called Rockfest in 1997, it was outside of Denton.

I went to Thailand to see my friends ethic group perform an ethnic dance. Well, the plane ticket was paid by my friend so its o.k., the people seem to have loved them. They were great. It was ok to be absent for some other matters, the ticket was free anyways. But for concerts for my favorite bands or singers, I don't really need to travel that far, just have to stand in line hoping to get in, most of the times not.
