All racism sucks in whatever form it manifests itself. It is a part of us we should make strenuous efforts to get over! It is unacceptable *FULL STOP*.

I did not mean to kill the thread sir...
I was told I am a racist...
I applaud that...because I am...
Does an economist hate economy?
Does a physicists hate physics?
Does a purist hate purity?
C'mon...
Satanist...
Fatalist...
Anarchist...
It seems to me we have put a stamp on a word...

Oh, you didn't kill the thread.
If some people are not up to these little tests then no biggie.
I can say that for those who did take the test, most probably found it
not as big a deal as the name of the thread.
I just wanted to see who would be brave enough to take them!

"So I said to the hitchhiker what do you do? he said I'm a student, I said a student of what? he said he was studying journalism and photography, so I said that's funny I'm actually writing a short story about a photographer who went completely insane trying to take a close up photo of the horizon"

I was raised in a somewhat racist all-white suburb and so yes I have racist sentiments that I occasionally have to fight off. I've learned to drown them pretty effectively. Years ago, when I realized this about myself I tried talking to people not of my ethnicity and I became so afraid of coming across as racist that I had trouble saying anything at all. That surely wasn't progress. Now I have no problem with it. A year or so ago I was talking to my previous supervisor (who happened to be black) about lynching, the confederacy, and whether or not my ancestors were slave owners (my ancestors in the US go back to the colonial period; I don't know if any of them owned slaves). It was a great and open conversation.
But I couldn't take the quiz... blocked by my employer (CURSES!! )

It's always good to have an open discussion just like the one you had. We can always learn something new about each other, that's similar and also come to respect the differences. I think that's what's needed more. Then we can start to see that we're not really too different at all, but just a variety of skin tones!

I am speaking for myself. My neighbor and I have the same types of discussions all the time, he being a different race from me. Sometimes we even laugh about some of the things we've found in the past to differentiate us as humans to be just stupid, petty or ignorance.
To quote him, "I guess we all have to grow up sometime."

what I meant was you and your neighbor can think you're the same but in different skin tones, but I'm different from you two. Can you both mince and dice? I think not. I can.

I don't know Blender, I’m pretty handy in the kitchen and that avatar looks nothing like me. Been thinking of creating a more unique one, so then you guys can see my ugly mug shot. But I don’t know -maybe I’ll just keep you guys guessing for right now. I'm still pretty new to this Internet thingy, and sometimes it gets pretty tricky. But I am learning.
