Sugar water? Only if you heat the water first and run it through some ground coffee beans.

Caffeine in high enough concentrations is toxic to slugs and snails. Maybe it could work against the cockroaches I know

It is a natural insecticide. Maybe the soldiers of our post-apocalyptic future will be loading up their anti-bug guns at the local Starbucks. (Because, you know that if any corporation survives it will be Starbucks.)
