My conclusion: It looks the same as any other penis...except it looks "shy"....like...it's hiding its face.

I disagree.
I think that circumcision is a great gift that every parent can, and most certainly should give to all their male offspring at early infancy.

...And can be very exciting too. As far as I can remember the Quack Doctor chopped the skin at the same time I spit the chewed Guava leaves and I jumped into the river. After that its history....

I'm thinking of circumcising my elbows. Get rid of that un-sightly change purse. But then I would probably have to keep my arms straight all day... what to do, what to do?

No way, I'd have walked from the hospital if they tried to come near my boy. Apart from the hours of fun his foreskin gives him - it's meant to be there.
Years later a friends boy nearly died after a very serious infection - how on earth are you meant to keep the wound clean?

Understand what? I know it's just a vanity thing (except for the Jews I think) and not necessary, but it makes a great gift.

I have many Jewish relatives, plus my husband is a Jew....so, I am quite familiar with ritual circumcision ie "the Bris". I remember having to go to several of my cousins' Brises ....and I have to say, it was extremely traumatizing! I just couldn't (and still can't) understand what makes everyone want to gather together to watch some 90 year old man with shaky hands do something painful to an infant. THEN, by all means, let's eat some bagels and lox!
Despite my disgust with the ritual, when my own son was born, I never thought twice about having him circumcised. It's the norm where I come from.....no matter what someone's religious or ethnic background. I didn't want him to be "different". However, I had no desire to have a "penis party" and invite 100 of my closest friends to watch my son get snipped, without anesthetic, in a non-sterile environment. So....instead, I had it done by a pediatrician in the hospital with a local anesthetic. AND....I was not there when they did it.
The thing to remember is...though it seems brutal, babies don't remember it....and if it's done correctly, there is very little bleeding and it heals within a few days.

Is the sacred penis really worthy of such ritual? Well, apparently. It does dress it up a bit though, doesn't it? Turtle headed lookin' thing.

Well, for dudes who don't have their forskin anymore and their partners there's NO WAY they can ever find out what they MISS.
