Keyword Position Going Down

Hello All,

A one website promoting form last 6 months. I am using around 25 keywords for a website. The all keywords have good position around first and second page on google searches. But now form august, my keyword position going down. If i have keyword on 3rd position then it goes on 15 position.

I want to tell you one thing. From the august i had check keyword position by using IBP. And i am doing all thing of off page optimization.

Please tell me what is the problem behind this.

Quality links are the most important. Even you do off-page optimization, you forgot one thing, your competitors. That's a challenge for you to feel the nerves that your competitors are working hard to increase their rankings.. I feel that you are that confident on your promotion and not looking on the worse scenario that will happen when your competitors boost their way up to the rankings.

how's your traffic?...maintaining a keyword position is very hard..try to be more aggressive in building your links..

I think that you should expect this keyword downfall and focus more on link building! like they always said results in SERP is not consistent that's why you build more backlinks using your targeted keywords!

link building.. that's the only solution i can suggest because one of the algo of google is quality backlinks and it must be related.

Thank You for suggestions. But i am also doing link building even i will do three way link exchange. I know the keyword results in SERP is not constant. But the position going down from last month.

I agree with grishamist. Many be the competitors are doing work hard.

Is there any reason. Please suggest me.

I've been researching for answers and I've read the article about Google updates keyword ranking every hour and I'm having the same problem regarding on keywords dropping. Just search it on Google about that article.

Check your back-links. Are they still there on that pages?

Did you check your onpage factors such as keyword density, title, and meta it may have nothing to do with link building. Some new website may exist now that didn't at the time your ranked well. These new site or other site might have better on page factors.

if you do google search allinanchor:keyword and your in a top position but your ranking isn't

Alot of the time what may take tons of links to fix can be easier fixed with better content density.

The 25 Keywords are not only for home page. They cover up whole website. Yes in particular web page Meta Tags have right keyword density on a particular page content and also have content rich pages.

Remember Google doesn't look at ever page, so if you have keywords on the main page (the 25) without content to them, they'll reject those words.

Without looking at the site, I wondering if Google is looking at you as a "keyword whore" and punishing you for having bad keywords.

Google is messing the search results once again.

In my opinion they have big trouble because all this "link and PR" stuff, because they had pushed for years that people go out to get backlinks, and now they can't trust in links anymore.

In fact, many authority sites uses nofollow tag for naturall links to avoid loosing PR!!

So, everything is going crazy and Google is trying to find a way in this mess.

The only option will be "content". Google will have to forget about PR, links, etc. and concentrate in content.

i agree that the king for seo is content. you should supply unique content within relative keywords for customer.

you don't need to frustrate. I have also same problem from last few days and i came to know that this problem will be continue coz google changes ranking twice in a month, means it updates it and when we stop working off page activity, we loose ranking.

Why don't you update your site content,then you will see jump in your search engine ranking, meanwhile continue link building process. Try to get one way links for your site.

I was promoting a certain site and I was also having
the same problem.. I have my keyword on top
47th of google and it suddenly landed on the 57th that
keyword is my main keyword and I was really annoyed by
the sudden change.. but I understand why it change it's
because of Google dance or update.. in this scenario there is
a possibility that your keywords will fluctuate in either in high
or low position in rankings..
