Thanks burgi82,
That is information I did not know before.

Why do I get different amounts of incoming links when I use
links: www.google.com
and
link: http://www.google.com
and which one does Google go by when doing page rank?

I started trying to make sure we use http:// for all our new links. but we have like 50 with http:// when you remove http:// we have like 200 so it is a big difference.

The problem is whenwe started I did not know anything so I would just say put a link to www.geeksonsteroids.com thinking this was all I needed.

Now I'm not sure how many of those are no good. If Google only counts http://www.geeksonsteroids.com then I loose a lot of links.

If you only have www.geeksonsteroids.com as the link then it won't reach your site

It will do something along the lines of this

www.blueuniverse.co.uk/index.htm

When link is clicked on

http://www.blueuniverse.co.uk/index....onsteroids.com or at least that is how I think it should go

no, google counts all of them, and ranks you in its SE for the URL that has the best and most links to it.
But again, that is only true for www. versus the domain without the www., but I don't know anything about including or not including the http:// making any difference.

Hopefully it will. I'm hoping on some of the lower rankings I get that I'll do good with it.

It depends on how often Googlebot visits the site. And even then you'll almost certainly see the old Title being displayed occassionally.

Gede, I think it is better with only the first arrow. Adding the second one it looks desparate to me, and the first one alone is a strong attention grabber in itself - without it becoming too much. Some my even think that Google has chosen to highlight your site, which I doubt people would think when the second one is there too. Just a thought.

I have experimented with this on a couple of my sites. Not sure of the increase in CTR. The cache has updated though. Also the sites search engine positions were not effected by it "yet."

Shouldn't effect keywords only on the page

If it does effect keywords they will be in the title tag although I doubt it will
