Neat SEO Trick
I added a code to www.must-have-software.net, to the < title > tag. Now go here:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...+have+software
See that arrow? Well the code I added to the title tag made that come up. If you are on the first page for something, but lower on the page, it will catch peoples eyes. What you do, is just add these codes to your title tag before the actual site title.
Star:
& # 9 7 8 8 ;
Arrow (like mine)
& # 9 6 5 8 ;
Black Smilie:
& # 9 7 8 7 ;
White smilie:
& # 9 7 8 6 ;
(delete the spaces)
So it will look like this:
[code:1:153c8386de]<TITLE>► Must Have Software - Software Reviews and Freeware Reviews</TITLE>[/code:1:153c8386de]
Thats how you do it!
Have fun guys (and gals)![/code]

Just a note Phil, it doesn't show up in Mozilla Firebird.
Just shows up as a square.

that actually does look kind of cool. I don't know if I'll implement it on my sites, but it's a great idea and is something to get the attention. But, having the keywords in the title tag is also something to get peoples attention.

but, are there any searchterms, for which you are on the first page, but not number 1. Because I think that these search terms would be the best to try this out on. Because if you are number 1, you will get lots of clicks from that search anyways.

I've been noticing that in the SERP's, and it really does catch the eye.

true, but first, people will have to figure out how to do this. If I would not be reading these forums here, I would have no idea at all on how to do this!

I doubt that. If you find a site on Google with such a symbol in the site's title, you just grab it from the source code. Every webmaster will know how to do that.

I use .07 as well, and it shows as an arrow in the tab, but a box in the title of the program.
