I don't think so. Google would return the results basing on language or country but not browser version or type.

I tested this with different browsers in the same location

Google does give different results if you're logged in to google and depending on the browser you're using. I used IE 7, IE8, Firefox, Safari, chrome, and opera. i got different results every time. The only thing that was consistent was if I did the search with the same browser and whether or not I was logged in to google. Please before giving your personal opinion, let's test.

The results are not browser dependent, they are search engine dependent. therefore the results will not alter on using different browsers.

mmh, I get different results...

stumbled across this thread, because I was looking for an explanation, why I am getting different results for the search term 'knuefer' (my name) in FF3.5.4 and IE8 when using the built in browser search using google.

In FF, I am on #1 (f-knuefer.com), in IE I am around #45. Search initiated (repeatedly) from the same location (my desk) within seconds.

?

there are different results

Hi I came across this thread because a SEO company emailed me about the search results of one of my sites. When searching for this one website it is #2 in the search. I thought the guy who emailed me was crazy when he said it was on the 3rd search results page.

So I did a test. In FF I'm always logged into my Google account. I went to IE which I don't use so I'm not logged into Google and there it was my website was on the third page! First I thought it was because I was using a different browser.

So its not about different browsers it about how Google retains information about your search habits and visited sites while being logged into your account. You will notice on a search results page while being logged into Google you have number of times visited and that affects your search results.

Hope this helps.

It is the first time that I heard about this. Though I am a user of Firefox for most of the time, i think the different version of IE browers lies on its speed, not the result!

I already tested different browsers and I see that there is no difference in Google search results.
