How long for new site?

How long does it take for the backlinks to show in google for a new site? My new site only appears if I search for it by the url (psp-forum.com).
But the links from other sites are not showing up at all.

Page Rank/Back Links updates are about monthly in frequency - last one was June 22nd ... sit tight until the next one - you'll know when it happens - the forums will light like my Christmas Tree when it does! ;-)

are you having problems with issuing session ids or anything like that?

databases get spidered quickly if you have a bunch of links pointing into them and do not have issues preventing search engines from indexing your stuff.

The site is www.psp-forum.com
Ive removed session ID's for guests, and the pages are HTML.
But only the homepage has been indexed :S

<EDIT- just noticed robots.txt>
However, Ive noticed a prob in robots.txt, ill remove some of the listings and see what happens.
Ive done quite a good bit of seo on that site (aswell as starting to get links), eg removed all links to usernames etc in guest view. (I had removed the "who is online" bit at the bottom, because it is extra irrelevent links to googlebot, but i decided to put it back in because I feel from a user point of view its useful to see whos online).

Hey bro, your "robots.txt" is not a robots.txt at all.

"View source code" http://www.psp-forum.com/robots.txt shows this:

[code:1:b7fddbce52]<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>
<BODY><PRE></PRE></BODY></HTML>
[/code:1:b7fddbce52]

That's HTML = NOT robots.txt

This is how a robots.txt looks like: http://www.v7n.com/robots.txt <-- do "view source code" on that file!

Stay away from the html, .txt means: .TEXT document.

Tariel Zivzivadze is liked by many
Send a message via ICQ to Tariel Zivzivadze Send a message via MSN to Tariel Zivzivadze
So if you want to index all the pages the proper text in Robots.txt is:

#
# Internet-Marketing-Research.net: robots.txt
#
#
#

User-agent: *

It's actually only half a robots.txt:
Quote:
#
# psp-forum: robots.txt
#
#
#

User-agent: *
basically says "all spiders, here's your instructions", except there are no instructions.

At a minimum, it should say:
Quote:
User-agent: *
Disallow:
which says, "all you spiders, listen up! Disallow nothing (i.e., spider everything".

Of course, if that's how you want to instruct the bots, you don't really need a robots.txt file at all.
