Hi

I have a few websites

I sell promotional pens

So I got this domain www.promopens.net & made a fake promotional pens directory.

& got the my ad for my website : www.1234pens.com

So tell me guys what u think??

Why create a fake promotion pens directory? This is just a doorway page.

directories can work, but if your goal is "fake"

and your directory is less than authentic and low quality it will likely show in your work.

i certainly would not publicly state that I have a "fake" directory.

why would I let my competitors know what I was doing AND give myself negitive press at the same time?

I think its better to get registered in a few decent directories rather than spending money on making or building directories just to promote one or two sites...

I am saying this because I am building a general directory myself, and I know how much hard work it takes..

I see your "directory" has a PR2, which means it is in the google index, and therefore it must have a link to it. What is the link to it? Is it from your main site, 1234pens?

I did a search in yahoo & get 476 links when I do it with google it only shows 1 link

do you have a link from 1234pens.com to your "directory"? if so, you have a reciprocal link, which is probably not as valuable as a one-way link.

a "one way" link is where site A has a link to site B, but there is no link back.

a "reciprocal" link is where site A has a link to site B, and site B has a link to site A.

it is generally thought that google gives more value to a one way link than to a reciprocal link...

i do not think reciprocal links to related sites will hurt you per say, just try to get links from a variety of websites.
