how can a se check if a page is doorway?

Typically, a fairly plain page with about 200-500 words that is SEOed for specific keyword or "key phrase". Typically, the only link out of that page is the one going to the site it is designed for.

For example, John can design a page optimized for the word "webmaster forums" and have 1 link that point to this forum.

doorway pages have a different definintion based on who you talk to.

the most clasic defenition is like having tons of pages on other sites or tons of useless random pages in various locations which aim to have a person end up at one final central destination.

Google is definitely penalizing Doorway Pages these days.
They used to work in the past though.

Has anyone submitted one to G recently and had it successfully indexed?
I think they have introduced some filtering method to reject the obvious ones. I believe they consider them to add no value and are a means of manipulating the serps. Some famous position tracking software has had their doorway feature rendered ineffective.

You can get away with doorway pages if you don't make them look too much like doorway pages. Add a little bit of content.

I thought DoorWay pages by definition only had a link into the target site but the DoorWay page itself had no in-bound links from any other page.

A googlebot would never find it unless you submitted it.

Correct me if I am wrong here.

the doorway needs some links to it from somewhere for the search engine to find it
