Curious - what exactly does the alexa number mean? I have 3 new sites that I launched in Jan and Feb - all are ranked 2 or 3 and in the top 10 in google - my backlinking is working well, but I don't have any idea what the alexa number means....?

as i can see the first post on ur blog was started on 15th June'09

i would recommend to go for keyphrase to rank, targeting long tail keywords will be much better then running after short tail and competitive keyword like "Bollywood News"

SERP is also depends of niche keyword. my be your niche keyword is high competitor.That is make your SERP optimise more difficult.

Your site is new it will takes some time to get ranking in search engines, I think if you can use proper way of link building, try to get link on same niche site relevant link exchange it's really help's you to get ranking.

I think you should check the competition of your keyword first..

many be you are going in a wrong way while building links.

just go check your backlinks in google and yahoo.. atleast you will come to know how much its showing..

Also make ur website's content very pure and unique.. it can be this problem also

If you are talking about Google Page Rank, then it only comes through Back Links and Quality of Your Web Content.

I got my Page Rank 2 within 20 days, this is because...
I created daily 25 links and wrote 3 articles (scheduled to be published every 4 hours).

I am targetting Page Rank 6 (thats the highest we can get) within 1 year

So, Start Building some links and put some content on your website...
