Google Deskbar
Google Deskbar enables you to search with Google from any application without lifting your fingers from the keyboard. Installs easily in your Windows taskbar.

Bah! I was about to post this!
I think its OK, not much use for a search thing in your taskbar, if I need to search for something, I'm usually already on the net.

I read about that a couple of days ago and my first thought was - is Google moving towards being more than a search engine. This thing is a far cry from being a desktop, but I wouldn't be surprised if Google were looking to move in that direction.

I meant more like taking over the desktop job from Microsoft.

A little while ago I did a search on "Toolbar", hehe, you can build a wall of them blinding your screen if you want. This, for me, is another useless thing that doesn't add anything I don't already can do and I guess that goes for most people.
Well, Google also bought Blogger.com and I guess they indeed want to become more then "just a" search engine and seem to start to add services now.
Btw, lol, upgrading my Google toolbar to the new version, and my curiosity, got me on a blog too.
