Lost PR and Backlinks but not Position !?

Ok so this site http://www.sectionz.com lists great for targeted keywords and that has not changed.

What has changed is that PR went from 6 to 0 and only 2 of what used to be over 200 backlinks now show up.

How can this be? This is a genuine authority site for its topic.

Can anyone see some reason for this that I'm missing?

the page it redirects to is not seen as the same page as the root url

1. I know, but only 2 of those 133 are from external sites (used to be 200)

2. and when I PROG the 'root' url PR still shows 0

...so I appreciate your comments but I don't think they answer the question.

optimization technique/tactic has caused the PR and backlinks drop?

Note that the in site page that comes at #1 in the serps above does NOT show up in the backlinks search. Neither are any of the many similar pages like it.

if the rankings have not changed then I would not worry much about what they are showing.

the whole point of what they are showing right now is that what they are showing is arbitrary and SEO therefore must be black art magic.

I take it you are saying that Google is making a point of screwing over SEO types by serving apparently screwy serps, PR, backlinks etc.

that does not screw over all SEOs (it actually helps some of the better ones out). it just makes their results harder to manipulate.
