example:

My site was last cached (i assume this means the last time google visited my page) by google 7 days ago,but hasnt been visited since.

when g last cached my site pages i checked my ranking in g.

today(a week later) i check my rankings on g again,and my rankings have gone down alot for my major keywords. (note: i am not near the top of google)

i havent changed anything on my site in the last 7 days and the only thing that has changed should make it much better. about 6000 quality backlinks.

Have i gone down in the rankings purely because 7 days ago g put me in a position and where my site hasnt been cached again since, other websites in my field have simply raced ahead and pushed me back until g visits again?

Hi Jamie,

A more experienced member of this forum will be able to answer your question better, but I think Google may wonder - how you have gathered 6000 backlinks in such a short space of time??

For new sites to suddenly have a large number of backlinks, I think Google may be questioning this.. possibly

i am an absolute idiot!!!

that bit of infomation is completly false and i must of been very stunned when i wrote it this morning. totally ignore that bit of info.

i have been using my link pop checker and have added all of the backlinks from about 7 differnt search engines together thats how i've come to 6000!!!

in all fairness i've probably had around 500 bls come in the last week but i have waited for these for about 3 mths now and theve all shown up on other sengines at the same time,

they are good links ,loads of directories and loads of fellow jewlery sites ,

i think the best thing for anyone trying to answer my question is to ignore what i said about the bl s

ideas naturally spread in waves...its fine to pick up a bunch of links all at once.

you just want to make sure:

you vary link text
you get links from many locations
and you may want to try to point some of the links at inner pages too

doing those will help make your site look like a natural spreading idea

For better ranking, google must visit your website quickly. For this, you must have quality back links. Google visited your website a week ago. Since then it has not visited your website yet. You also update your website regularly and also participate regularly in the forums and use social bookmarking websites will be also useful.
