Google, site: search is there a difference

If I do a site search for google using site:www.mycarjams.com it shows 8 results, if I do a search for site:mycarjams.com it shows 2580 results, pretty much all the pages of my site. Is there a difference between the two? If I do search for brand and model #'s I am coming up on the first page of results for about 50% of the items I offer. Which happened after the 2580 started showing up on the site search without the www., is one better than the other and if so how would I get it to where they would show up on the site:www. search? Also I have to ask, can someone explain allinanchor to me. Thank you in advance for any input.

Scott

Hi Scott,

allinachor (anchor text) is a command that tells you who has the most back links with Google for any given keyword/phrase you are targeting.

Example, if you were using the keyword/phrase ''car jam'' in your anchor text for your linking campaigns, go to Google and type in allinachor:car jam and it will pull a list of results for who is top for that particular phrase.

Some examples of other simular commands can be found here - http://www.google.com/help/operators.html

I'm not sure what you mean. Google sees www.yourdomain and yourdomain as separate webpages and different URLs (unless you configure your server to redirect one to the other). This does not cause any problems for most people.
