Google updating

I'm reading an update on www.google.com at the moment - all my Webmaster Forum backlinks have dropped, but I'm now showing as listed at DMOZ for the chronicles-network - and the comparative-religion site now has an interesting listing at About. Onward and upwards!

PR not showing for the chronicles network as yet, but there's an extra 20,000 showing as inedxed. So it seems we're in the middle of an update.

First to know. Yah boo raspberry!

for my sites, I don't see an update yet, but I sure hope that it will come soon. Having sites with PR makes the link exchanging process a lot easier.

After Brian posted that, I checked and saw some changes. Mostly ranking changes on a brand new site we did which I was starting to get worried about. But now it's looking good.

hehe, yep, updates alright, I got #1 for my shop for some very important key phrases. I'm lucky the competition is not into SEO yet.

Remember when I first came visit the webmaster forums? I came to learn, I still do but I guess it's well worth spending some time here. Good going JohnScott. Btw, do you drive those bikes? Like Kawasaki and Suzuki? I've been a biker since I got my licence in '77 and started of with japanese bikes, got into HD becouse my father had them but my present wheels are Buell Lightning XB12S.

Strange, I see www-mc reporting the same backlinks from a month ago (before the end of October update).

Naw. I had a bad accident when I was 15 on a Honda CBX-250 - almost took my leg off. I haven't ridden a bike since.

The newest one, KawasakiMotorcycle.org, is for the BeartoothKawasaki.com guy. He's doing some good business on the web.

I'm seeing -mc showing new backlinks for Yahoo! and some others, but not for all the URLs that I check. If you are checking your own backlinks, Shawn, they probably haven't changed (no new ones and no lost ones).

Back links for my pages on -mc has reverted to be what they were one month ago (before the update a few weeks ago).

In fact, I just went to my handy/dandy keyword/back link tracker (since it lets me go back historically and look), and back links on www-mc have definitely reverted back to month old data for every website/web page that I was tracking.

Ah! -mc is showing different results than the others for many searches that I check regularly. It doesn't sound like a backlinks update after all, which means it's just that the rolling update has reached some of I, Brian's stuff - and some of mine.

-mc is an odd one. It's often unavailable for short periods - even just for a few seconds.

I just realized I was tracking yahoo.com with my test account in my keyword tracker... So I actually have data for them... and it does appear to have reverted. This is what Yahoo's backlink data was (see attachment).

www-mc is showing 806,000 (which is what it was) last month.

Also, it's my test account, so the sampling date isn't the time those back links *first* showed... just when I used the account.
