Google Chrome 2 Public. Here comes Chrome 3!
Google in now into Version 3 of it's Chrome browser within a year of its initial release. Some are saying this is because they're trying to catch up to FireFox - version wise. I'm doubting that though.
I was one of the first to try out Chrome 2 beta which actually turned into a good experience all around. A couple mites popped up during the development but nothing crippling from my experience.
From what I've been reading this early dev release is quite the bug farm at this point so I think I'll be waiting a bit before trying it. It's only available via the Chrome Dev Channel, so I don't think it's even being considered a Beta version yet.
Once again, promises of extensions and themes are being thrown around.
If it wasn't for the fact that Chrome 3 will overwrite my Chrome 2 install (my default browser), I'd take a quick peek.
If anyone is brave enough to check it out, let us know what you think.

Actually, I also downloaded Chrome the time it was available.
Its a good browser but I personally use FF as it has lots of plugins/addons that I need. I do not see many add-ons/plugins for Chrome yet.
I think it will take quite some time before Chrome compete FF in terms of add-ons/plugins.

I've know Google Chrome since its first launch but have never used it actually. I love my Firefox extensions/addons, that's why! But as a normal internet user, Google Chrome woks fine.
I'm pretty interested into what the Google Chrome 3 would look like, especially the new features it'll offer.

I am finding Chrome 3 much faster and far less buggy than previous versions.

So the previous ones are buggy?
Good thing I stick to FireFox, but I guess I better check out the latest version.

I've been having problems with the new Firefox 3. Every time it freezes, I load Google Chrome. It's almost just as fast as Firefox. I'm just not liking the new Firefox. I have the older version Firefox 2.0.0.20 on my other computer, and it still works fine (no freezes - or 'firefox not responding').

Maybe it's just my old FrankenPuter, but I found Chrome was lightening fast compared to FF3. Always experienced lags with FF (both V2 and V3) not to mention FF always takes up to 30 seconds to boot. Chrome fires up almost immediately.
Maybe I just need a new computer.

Personally I've found Chrome to be great if you're running a JavaScript heavy site or some other client side language heavy site but other than that it just does not provide what I need.

Tried Google Chrome V1 the day it was released on V1, and it was quite buggy so I uninstalled it (filling a report with suggestions to improve it).
Tried Google Chrome V2 short after release, and it still lacks addons capabilities that makes me love Firefox at the moment, and I also found out that when installing Chrome it put a scheduled task on Windows + an all-time-running resident service to check for updates that is stealing memory and bandwidth from my machine even when Chrome is closed, while Firefox only checks for updates when opening. I uninstalled V2 (again sending a report with suggestions).
If the future versions don't support addons or still use services to check for updates when the browser is closed, I won't even install it.
I think they are not listening to the community. Making it open source would change that since I would just download a modified version that suits my needs.
