Some link building techniques like directory submission takes time (days, weeks, and for some, months). So you won't see them yet.

The backlink results from Command Link: in google does not represent all the backlinks your made or google indexed,it's only a small sample of the results.

For sure G do not like you scan backlinks.
I guess no profits for G to let web masters check their backlinks.

I suggest to not use the link: operator to check your site's backlinks. According to Google, the link operator only show a sample of the backlinks that a site have.
Instead, use Google webmaster tools or Yahoo site explorer to check backlinks.

Google's webmaster tools is really the one you should take notice of, as Yahoo/Bing's similar interfaces will show all of the links (not bad if you have considerably more in those Se's as you'll rank higher) but given Google's market share, it's more important to focus on them - i.e. if you use a source (be it forum, article site, PR site, Blog, Squiddo, etc. etc. ) and they don't show up in google over, say, 4 months, then knock that on th head, as it's not going to work for you.

If they are nofollow backlinks, they may not show up. Also, if the search engine seldom crawls the sites you're commenting on, then it doesn't help.
I use backlinkwatch.com
