Thess sites have changed the code and Google Approved and Featured them, HOW COME??!!

This is regarding change in the Google code (Adsense and Custom Search). Google listed these sites greenmaven.com/ and fao.org under "Feature example" in the Google custom search. If you look at the custom search - greenmaven.com also using Google Adsense- they have changed the style of the search box. How Come?? How they changed the style and Google called them -Featured Example-. We know that you can not alter/change the code!!!

Any explanation???!!

I am trying to know how I can get a permission to change the style of my Adsense search box.

PS: I have posted the same question on many sites, no body so far have an answer
