I suspect google does. And Yahoo search is powered by Google, as are many other search engines.

And from looking at Alexa (which I don't really trust, mind you) it turns out Yahoo gets more traffic.

Google gets more overall Traffic... they have much more content than Google (games, email, stocks, stores, etc.), but Google gets more search engine traffic.

you mean yahoo gets more overall traffic, right?
ALso, yahoo uses the google results, so they should technically display the exact same search results, eventhough yahoo gets the updated results always a little later than google, I think.

Depends on the metrics you use to calculate which gets the most traffic. Yahoo has more market reach, but Google has greater search share. Then you can look at things like which has the most time spent on it ....
The search results on Yahoo are from the Google database but Yahoo does tweak them, for instance adding information from the Yahoo directory for sites that are listed there.

Those are the search engine referrals for one non-webmaster related site.
For webmaster related sites such as this one, the Google share goes up.

I also go to yahoo a lot more, but only for news and stuff like that. I never search there. But for every search I do, I go to google, no mattter if I'm at yahoo, while thinking about doing a search.
Don't know why, but never use yahoo for search.
