a Google Gmail question.

I havent login Yahoo for a long time and I got mail account been emptied.

My Question
Do Gmail delete and empty an account if the Gmail member does not login for more than 3 months or a specific period of time?

Thanks

Hi,

I am not sure but may be gmail has its own rules because one of my email account close without any notification and as i remember that i have not login there for long time.

If gmail close directly then yahoo is better than gmail because yahoo inactive the account only.

Thanks

Gmail is superior to Yahoo mail in every way.

Seriously, I wouldn't even know where to begin with. Just sign up and try it out for yourself.

PS: No, I don't believe Google closes your Gmail account for being inactive. I'm not exactly sure. What you can do is, download Thunderbird (Beta 3) and connect your Gmail with the open-source email client. This way, your email is synchronized to the application and you'll have access to your mail anytime no matter how much time you remain inactve (plus the fact that you can access it while offline kicks some serious butt).

Sorry I did not describe my question well.

I meant that I have not login my Yahoo account for 3 months and Yahoo will auto delete all my old mails but not close my account. I do still can use the yahoo email account.

My question is :
Do google also delete our old mails if we do not login gmail account for a long time?

Thanks,

I have no idea about it. Best way is to ask in "Google Help discussions".

Hi,

As i think if you will read google Terms and condition at registration time then you can get more information.

But according to my experience google will close directly your gmail account.

Thanks

Hi,

I think you are right because google is not deleted my account, My gmail account is banned due to some reason.

I was using that account for only submission and marketing work and i think i disobey some rules of google by mistake.

Thanks

Well, I investigated and found some information about your query. if you do not login for 9 months on a stretch. Gmail account is marked as INACTIVE if you do not login for 6 months. You can still receive emails while account is marked INACTIVE.

3 months after the INACTIVE status (6 months + 3 months = 9 months) your Gmail account may be deleted. So, make sure you login once in 9 months to prevent deletion of your Gmail account.

In short your emails and account will be deleted in 9 month's period.

I have an inactive gmail account and tried to login today. I haven't opened it since for the past 5 months and its pretty working. I received emails since the last time I opened it. (those were google news alerts).

After all we are using their services so we do nothing in this case if they delete our information after due time period. Good advice is having the important data in different emails or on your system.

I do not think that people should go for paid emails because such great email service providers are available like GMail & Yahoo. If we think practically then one should not wait and let his email account deleted by not login for 9 months.
