URL Index in google.

When I say that google index of URL "WWW.XYZABC.com" is 1, what does that mean?

How to verify that the index of this particular URL is 1?


Please guide me.

When someone search certain keyword ,WWW.XYZABC.com is number 1 spot on that keyword I guess.

Perhaps you are referring to Google pagerank. This is a measure of a page's importance on the Web. It ranges from 0 to 10. Here is a link to the wikipedia page that describes what pagerank is.

Let me reframe my question.

Let say I have a URL.
When some one say " URL 'ABC' Indexed in Google is 1", "URL "XYZ" Indexed in Google is 1,230,000".


How can i check verify this index value is correct or not?

Actaully i am new to this SEO concept. so dont have much idea on page rank/index etc........

Please guide me

The value which you are getting is the pagerank of that page. It is given by Google. It shows the popularity of that page.

Pagerank is formula developed by Google to determine a web pages "inbound link ranking".

For the indexing part. You can have this query run in google search.

site:www.yourdomainname.com (replace yourdomainname with your actual domain)

You would see a list of pages (if any). The no. states that much pages been included in Google's list of your website. Which is known as Indexing.

it means Google has index one of links in you site XYZABC.com .
you may check by go to search book and type site:www.xyzabc.com
it will list all page that you site was index. ex: i typed site:www.opvest.com , google will list about 105 links. that is all link about my site.
so, i can say Google index of URL www.opvest.com is 105.

I agree with jonny. You can check google if your site had been indexed. using the site: function plus your url.
