pagerank pages question

Do the amount of pages on a domain increase the potential of a higher pagerank on the main domain? For example, I have a site with the domain itself being a pagerank 2. If I remove half of the inner pages, is there a possibility the domain's pagerank will drop? I don't quite know the pagerank system well yet.

I believe that the total number of pages of a site can affect the site's pagerank. If you removed pages I think you might reduce your potential pagerank. Here is a detailed article on Google's pagerank algorithm.

Google given you Page Rank on based on your quality of links. and it's doesn't gets consider that if you removed your sites many pages that affect your PR. if you loss your links or stopped the link building works then you may loss the Page Rank.

I don't think the number of internal pages will be instrumental in increasing or decreasing the page rank of the main home page.

Inner pages of your site also pass on PR, so if you lessen those pages, it may have a slight effect on your PR as well.

You will not lose any PR as long as you're sure that nobody is linking to the pages you're planning to remove. If there are links that point to the pages you're removing then there is a possibility that you might lose PR.

A PR is assigned to every page of the site. So removing other pages or adding more pages won't affect the PR of your homepage but I think if you are linking internally and had some link removed, other pages' PR will be affected.

Generally speaking, inner pages would have certain links with your Homepage and might be considered to be backlinks for Homepage. So, I think it would affect the PR in long run.

It wont be wise to remove the pages and the shared PR would be dropped if you remove the pages. Or else use a 301 Permanent Redirect.

sure it will drop! that is not b/c you decrease amount of pages, but it will effect to your site structures. besides, you may lost some back link from the page that you remove. So, most of the time PR will down.

I think u have comnfuse one concept, PR is for the certain site, based on Google's algorithm.

So, remove half of the inner pages won't affect your homapage PR, as long as your backlinks aer still working!
