Google Filters

What do you guys think about this:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...nd&btnG=Search

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...nd&btnG=Search

Is this a filter in place that is penalizing too many sites linking to Bluefind with the term "bluefind" and "blue find"?

Does this prove that too many incoming links with the same anchor text has a negative effect on rankings?

Nah, they do the same thing with a site I work for.

Pisses me off but there's no penalty in place.

Yeah but links to Coke have been 1) In place for many years, 2) Didn't happen in a period of less than 6 months.

So I'm curious if it's the fact that the links to Bluefind happened literally overnight if there is a "sandbox" type effect on those links almost to a negative effect?

I'm just trying to figure out google's algo. An answer like "no" without any justification really doesn't help. I just see a very popular directory that is on the second page for its company name yet on the first page for search terms that have 7 million more results than Bluefind. So obviously, it still ranks awesome, but why not for the company name.. Once again, I'm wondering (so I can work around it in the future on my sites), if this is just a fluxuation in the algorithm or if maybe it's penalized for the term Bluefind?

<added>
Maybe this post should be moved to the Google forum, cause it's more about Google than it is Bluefind. I'm just using Bluefind as an example here.

Wait, I didn't notice that it was listed on the SECOND page.

That is strange. Hmmmm...
