Does Google index special characters?

I was wondering if google indexes special characters, like those you get in the special characters file in the PCs system tools tab, in the website's title as shown on the results page?

I suggest you make that text in your signature a little bigger, it's hard to read.

When I did the sig I didn't know it would appear so big!

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but Google used to display special characters in the SERP's which was kinda fun to use - they've cut way back on things ... but try search.msn.com for "longest car" and "halloween lights" to see what I mean.
