Would be a Linux distribution with their logo on if they did...

(off topic)
I love linux but not on the desktop. The Linux desktop is not even close to Microsoft and would require serveral years to play catchup (if MS would put a freeze on develop (which they wouldn't)

share price really does not mean that much...what is really important is overall market capitalization.

putting Google in perspective:

Google market cap:
50 Billion

eBay market cap:
63 Billion

Cysco Systems market cap:
120 Billion

Intel market cap:
137 Billion

Wal-Mart market cap:
220 Billion

MicroSoft market cap:
300 Billion

GE market cap:
350 Billion

Google is already worth 1/6th of MSFT and 1/7 of GE, who I think are the two most valuable companies in the world. if Google keeps up their market dominance and leverages its position as "internet marketing" and "finding out information" and "bad ass distributed computing systems" by the turn of the decade it may be worth more than any of the other companies on this list...by a wide margin too.

it has a massive growth rate, an amazing brand, and some industry dominating technologies. I am not about to go run out and buy a bunch of shares right now, but the company has serious potential.

looking just at the numbers doesn't account for many intangibles.

Over priced. Look at the PE ratio.....could collapse if the economy shows any sign of slipping.

Yeah, whether it has a massive growth rate or not, it's always very risky to buy such a high P/E stock.

It's also very risky to take the advice of people on message boards!
