Thrown into the fire
Hello,
I have been lurking here for a little while, this is a very informative forum. My company has a 4 year old web-based educational product, and are now trying to boost our SERPs. i have been elected to head this initiative. i have started by following SearchEngineWatch.com's Essentials of SE Submission.
So far, i have gotten our site listed in DMOZ and Yahoo!'s directory, but we have a Google PR of 0. searching for our site using an exhaustive list of keywords (learn english for kids, esl, esl) on googlerankings.com shows that we are ranked #715. obviously i have a lot of ground to cover, but at least i know that we are being indexed by Google.
My boss feels that converting our asp pages to HTML (big undertaking) will give us the best SERPs gain, while my research points to keyword repetition /location and inbound links. what would your next course of action be?
all suggestions are welcome.
TIA!
