UNIX time is internally represented as number of seconds since the Epoch which is Jan 1st, 1970 ... so looks like they got a "-1" in there! ;-)

I believe it just means that the date was improperly stored; but you could look at it like you're for sure out of the sandbox

Even one of the my site is showing the exact time and date as you Phillips.

Hmm....could Googlebot be time travelling? Would explain how it gets around the web at such speed perhaps without causing total server destruction (unlike MSN bot)...?

Then again, if you want something to think about this afternoon (or lunchtime for the Americans), how about this theory -


Googlebot is actually the result of a much superior alien lifeform (more commonly known to us as MICE [Most Intellegent Creatures Evolved]) who were living on the Moon and keeping an eye on their investment (the Earth).

Now I can't give the full story here, but in essence if the MICE were discovered during the moon landings, they might have agreed to help mankind with a few technological advancements such as small computers. Ever noticed how they went from huge machines to something on a desktop in 5 years?

Anyway, since the MICE are interdimension beings and since they have a very vested interest in Google (and keeping mankind alive), they also passed on the knowledge of how to build the most advanced web bot ever created with the ability to spider infinite amounts of information in absolutely no time at all...?

Unfortunately it appears they may have slipped up somewhere and forgotten to reset the date hence more proof for my theory - "Life, The Universe & Little White Mice" (not coming to a bookstore near you ).


Right, time I discovered time travel so I can go back and prevent John or the lovely, beautiful, never has a woman looked so stunning Jazeeze from hitting delete on this post...

Was reading about this problem on some other forums...apparently it's because Google's time function and actual cacheing bot are not synched....this problem happens when you page gets cached quickly.
