Question on duplicate content

Hi I want to know that if I copy some information from some other source, not whole the article and put one link to that article, is it one spam factor? please inform me politely. Thank you

Duplicate content ans spam are two different things, but if you take a half article and post in forums - it would be spam with duplicated content.
If you take a half article and place it on your blog with link to it, it won't be spam, but it won't give you any good ranking or similar things.
If you want get something related about ranking, you need to write your own content, unique. Or rewrite someones article in your own words

It is still a spam. I will give you a technique try to get a number of topic related articles then read each of them then from a number of good articles that you have read try to create 1 unique article.

if you consult with the author of the article and with his permission you do the rest. In this case you will be at the higher node. You can put at the end as Source : parentlink

If you do it without permission then it is a spam

It's not spam unless you put it somewhere where it is not welcome, like someone
else's blog. Spam is unsolicited advertising or promotion.

Duplicate content? This only comes into play if you have two duplicate pages
on your own site OR if two duplicate pages are trying to rank for the same keyword.

However, when ever the text is not your own, you should give proper credit.

Without proper credit to the original author, it's sleeze, not spam.

if you put the link source for that article, why would you still copy that and post. The best thing to do is if you want your readers to see your source as well is put a link to your source then post your opinion about it. =)

If you copy information from any source online, be it half or full, it is reffered to as duplicate content unless you fully rewrite it before using it on your blog.

It will not be cosidered as spams if u post it on your own blog. But u cannot get higher ranks in search engines. So if your target is more publicity, don't do this.

Well......if you publishing any article or post by copying it from the another site it will not harm you if you put a refferal link to main article from where you have taken it.
