The genius brothers behind Google Wave

Lars and Jens Rasmussen were broke and jobless -- with only $16 between them -- when they made it big in the Web world by selling their idea for Google Maps.

Years later, after finding cushy employment at Google Inc., the Rasmussen brothers flew in May from Sydney, Australia, to California where they would debut their sophomore product, a Web application called Google Wave, which they say, quite audaciously, will kill e-mail and forever change online communication.

Yep. Its pretty cool. I like the way they present it, smooth with a bit of humor. The whole idea was totally awesome. Does anyone here received any invites on Google wave?

Is Google Wave available to public? I heard that to be able to access it you have to get an invite? (I'm referring to registration)

You can login, but you cannot use it yet.

It will prompt a message saying:

Your Google Account has
not yet been activated
for Google Wave.

I guess you need to get invited first before you will be able to get an account. Which is sad if you don't have someone to invite you.

Until now, I am still waiting for someone to invite me so I can try this out..

I have been looking everywhere for possible invites and can't find them anywhere! Anyone have any suggestions?

Well if you have friends or colleagues who has an existing Google Wave account, you can ask for an invite. A friend of me said that she consumed here invites already so I wasn't able to avail one from her.

She said that there's a limit on how many persons you can invite then...

I am not really sure how the invites are being distributed.

One way of getting an invite is by searching on Twitter or Forums for certain keywords. Like for example, "I got a Google Wave invite".. Try searching Twitter for that particular keyword. You will definitely get "real time" result and try to follow, message or @mention the person that gives out an invite.

I have tried most of those tactics but by the time I make it there the invites are all gone

You tried searching on Twitter? The results are all "real time".... I am sure you will find someone posting there a few minutes ago after you search. Follow them. And mention them using the "@mention"... Good luck on your search anyway...
