Hi guys,

Just 2 quick questions.

- How often Google updates back links ?
- How long a link should be listed, before Google shows it as a back link (7-8 PR) ?

Only Google knows, there is no correct answer to this question.

This depends of how frequent the page that you have your BL on is spidered and on the relevance of that page to yours. Currently no one can tell when Google updates backlinks and therefor this question is hard to answer as well. It used to be about two months in general but that "used to be".

Hi,get a Google toolbar and in the search box just put "yoursite" no www or dot com
I get on average ten to twenty more backlinks per day, but it does not help your PR as much as you think, it is quality links from Directories that count. Also change pages at least once a week, put 'special offers on'. We use a NEWS update page and it works! Try these tools to help out www.marketleap.com they have loads of 'free tools' - I am also using www.gotop.com it is NOT a link farm and you are not buying links (before anyone asks!)

Google has just had a backlink update - my 3 week old site is finally showing some backlinks.

Currently, data center 216.239.39.104 is showing updated backlink info.

I'm very happy with the update.

Google still doesn't show any of the high PR links but at least I'm up to 1,320.

Same. Strangely enough for me its showing PR0 backlinks aswell as internal links.

Platinax homepage showing over 6,000 links, and the directory showing 5,000 backlinks. PR should be a strong 6 at the next update, I'd wager - presuming it's not too out of date.

It's nice to see the backlink updates happening - but, really, it's hard to use them as any kind of standard as you used to be able to.

Btw - Shawn's site has over 24,000 links - not bad - that's almost as many as Sevenseek.

I have 2240, before it was 1890 I think.

My backlinks are falling - the sky is falling

BTW, I have submitted my site to many directories over the past 2 months and still many of them are yet to be showing up in google and even yahoo. Such as uncoverthenet etc. Why oh why aren't I being rewarded SE GODS for the RSI I am getting from getting links!
