Dmoz Updated on Google

I just recently got listed in Dmoz (finally) but I noticed it isn't showing up that it is part of that catagory in Google. Any idea how long it usually takes for it to show?

I got listed in dmoz at the beginning of October. After Google did its October dance (or whatever its called these days), I showed up in dmoz searches. Then sometime in the beginning of November I showed up in Google's directory. However, my dmoz backlink still does not show up (bit my backlinks haven't changed since July - so who knows).

I got listed for one of my sites two months ago and it still hasn't showed up in Google's backlinks. But for another of my sites I got listed only one month ago and this site does show up in Google's backlinks. Seems pretty random. Guess all you can do is wait...

New directory listings are still not showing up in search results. Come on Google!

Google directory shows me, but dmoz doesn't...?? Why?

I had that problem - raised it in a thread on the directory board. The category updated a few days later.

Hi,

Dmoz recently changed the way they send data to google. I think it was only around about the beginning of the month that Google sorted their import issues out. I had a few sites stuck in the pipeline, though their now in Google.

I often browse the Dmoz Forum which is pretty informative:-
