I just checked indexed pages and it said 1.3 million. Is that right?

Google estimates are notoriously inaccurate on the high side.

A search of site:www.uncoverthenet.com estimates 838,000 but a real count (with filter=0) shows just under 1000

Google only show 100 pages eg, 1000 indexed pages...of any website.

In fact it's more than Google itself

My BL's more than doubled and my indexed increase by a few thousand as well.

1) Business on one of my sites picked up a bit. I was wondering why...see #2

2) Yahoo update, I had a site that went from nowhere (+1,000) to first page all within a week. (Google it's your turn buddy) LOL

3) Backlinks update... OK not that exciting but at least it's something.

Small increase on my site, but we've notice a big increase in traffic from yahoo, with Christmas coming fast we could be snowed under (pun!) with orders if google updates like yahoo!

Looks like they cleaned up old back links (often the result of the domain name extension changing) but still the back links update has not listed many new back links!

Google only ever show a sample of backlinks by design. Try Yahoo or MSN Beta, or AllTheWeb.

Wow, am I bummed. Something very weird happened today. Here are my results.

Yahoo - 107, of which 95 are my own pages.
MSN Beta Search- 426 links, of which 95 are my own pages.
Google - 2

Alltheweb - It shows 17 or 100+

I have been working for a month to get new links. Submitted to over 200 directories, and most are ONLY showing up on the Beta Search. I have been running my own link campaign and about ten of those links show up across the board, one of them is a PR7! But still nothing from Google. I have a #3 ranking on Yahoo for a highly competitive keyword and still nothing... Ugh....

Dont worry about what Google *shows* you. They know about it

As for ranking in serps, it takes a while to see effect from new links, and even longer for new domains.

Money wise, I doubt it, but the w3 is an extremely good cause, without it, there would be no such thing as Google or Yahoo or V7n

I noticed an increase too, but I swear I am creating more links out there than show up on Google each time they do an update. Whenther I look at 'link to' or 'contain the term'

any idea why it's so slow for me - am I just impatient?
