Regional Googles
How does a regional Google differ from the US Google?

Results for the same keyword, first in the US Google, then in the Dutch Google. In the US Google i'm ranked #1, in the Dutch Google i'm ranked #10.

US Google: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...-8&q=emmeloord

Dutch Google: http://www.google.nl/search?q=emmelo...TF-8&hl=nl&lr=

Does it choose .nl domains over .com, or?

I see the same thing in my pages (in Spain), and i have one .com, and us server, so i think the preference is the language. anyone can confirm it?

They recognise countries by the IP address of the site and the domain extension. But why you are listed higher in the local version is beyond me. It ought to be the other way around.

It is, actually.

Hmm so is there no way I will get ranked higher or is it just a matter of adding extra inbound links?
