I'm not seeing any adwords either - not in this forum and not on my site.

It's either me or my ISP. I can't get to loads of sites, but i can get to others, like this one.

I'm seeing adwords on here.

Alertra has Google up - a little lag on Frankfurt.

I wouldn;t be surprised if there's a technical angle to it, though - I doubt even Google can boast 100% uptime.

Sounds familiar - mine has done that a few times before. When doubt, blame the ISP.

Probably something on your end, Phil. Try rebooting your router so you get a new IP.

Added: Oops, slow typer today. Yes, by your end, I mean your ISP.

I'm having the same problem. Can't access about 50% of the sites I try to access (Adwords being one of those). There doesn't seem to be any pattern as to which sites I can access and which I can't...

Cant reach certain sites -- seems random

Whenever I've had an issue where a lot of websites are "down", but not all, it has always been either a router at my ISP (Cable company) or an entire part of the Internet backbone down due to a major router failure within a company like AT&T or Sprint. I remember one a couple years ago where people on the northern east coast could not reach servers in the rest of the country and the rest of the country could not reach servers in the northern east coast.

Using a word like "always" when discussing technology is not wise! It could be El Nino!

I'm not sure if it's limited to Europe but basically everyone's having connection problems at the moment.

Actually, there's a problem happening at the moment - couldn't connect to google.com, and checked alertra on spec:

Quote:
Spotcheck

Spotcheck Results for
Time (US/Eastern) Checked From Result Size Secs
11/25/2003 16:45:12 Frankfurt GERMANY Unable to connect N/A 30.04
11/25/2003 16:45:12 London UK Unable to connect N/A 30.07
11/25/2003 16:44:43 Los Angeles USA Connection to HTTP s N/A 1.92
11/25/2003 16:44:47 Detroit USA OK 3358 6.26

Checking...
I suspect that there may be routing problems with a major provider, and that's why ISP connections are being variable tonight. Just a guess, anyhow.

Unless all bad ISPs have decied to sync their problems.

I just ran a spotcheck on google.co.uk - it can't connect over the Atlantic.

Complete.
Definitely going with a bandwidth supplier - a bottleneck somewhere? Is there a major event with any of the datacenters in NY?

Or has the Google algorithm backfired on themselves?

It turned out that the only sites I could access were the ones I already had in browsers. So I rebooted my machine and that was that - I couldn't get anything. Now I'm back online again
