Puzzled - Index page gone from Google (Others are listing us everywhere)

ok, it seems from about a week to a week and a half ago the site i'm administering lost it's index.html page in google (other pages are still listed). i was about #12 for the site name and advancing, now gone from index under that keyword (locus long distance). Our main company site though, is listed all over the serps page, returning #1 for the keyword link to us through the info page.

what happened? I did do a ton of advertising, getting into paid and free directories, you'll see when you search - our site is returned from ALL OVER, except that we itself are not listed, how can this be?!? PR is still the same (3).

we're also running adwords and overture, not sure if this did anything though.

But yes, your not in the SERP's for locus long distance.

It could be a hiccup and your listing could come back tomorrow or six months from now.

My best guess, and it is only a guess, is the way you link together all your sites at the footer. I've heard rumors that Google may penalize for networking sites like that.

That's the thing that sucks about Googles SERPs. No one knows what the hell is going on. One day your on top of the world and the next day your being squashed by the Google behemoth.

Link bar could be an issue, but it's actually a staple on all our sites, as part of corporate branding.

It's very puzzling, but i can't imagine we're being penalized for growing too quickly?

That's my point. Google might see that as trying to create unnaturual link popluarity. I don't really know though, that's only thing that jumped out at me. Other people do it without any problems. Maybe someone else will see something I didn't...
