Conspiracy?
No conspiracy, just feel that users should know that if they host with goddady their sites will not be visible in many countries. If they don't have the decency to tell their clients I will. If you think I am making this up ask godaddy directly and post their answer here.

Go Daddy's been good for me, I hate when people say they had a bad experience and never even tried em. I find it hard to believe because they are always willing to help and if they can't they find someone like a manager that can.

I register most of my domains with them, but turn around time for support sucked huge rear end. after about a half a week of being passed around with my site being down I changed hosts and have never had a bad host since then. I think it was a shear act of luck that I ran into good hosting so early...so many bad storries out there.

I also experienced this..... whooooo.... What a nightmare that was!
I stuck with them and they took care of it......
Don't know what they were thinking? Had to be an error in judgement.... Did they not realize that if they blocked Google that the sites wouldn't be listed? The guy that made that decision probably got fired or found himself mowing the lawn outside the building.....
That was such a nightmare.....
Hope I never experience anything like that again....

I have a website - a new one - hosted at Godaddy and it has not gotten one visit from Googlebot. It has plenty of links, and is even showing decent PR now, but isn't indexed in Google. Makes me wonder if Godaddy is up to something funny.

I have a web site with Go Daddy and have had no problem getting indexed. The Googleblot seems to crawl my site every 48-72 hours.

No doubt. I am aware that tens of thousands of sites hosted by Godaddy are in Google's index.
My question stands.

I've had nothing but good experiences from godaddy too. Responsive customer service, relatively lower prices than others offering the same services.
Although, I am concerned about what John Scott said about godaddy/google issues. I could move my hosting plans somewhere else if it does become a problem.

That was like a year or more ago that Google confirmed that Godaddy was blocking Googlebot. They reportedly stopped blocking Googlebot.
So in Jan I get a domain with Godaddy, and get the site up. Not one visit from Google. The PageRank updated to PR3, but still not a single page indexed.

One of the great mysteries of the universe................or maybe you gave it to heavy of a dose of optimization and got some Google penalty. After all, you are the legendary John Scott and Google probably fears your optimization power.

No optimization at all.

Try to submit your site here: http://www.google.com/addurl/
Mr. Scott, What is the URL of the web site and I will do some research into this mystery.

It might help to get the Googlebot come and index your site. What is the URL of the site you are having trouble with and I will try to help. If it is a good site I might add a link to it on my blog for you.
Do you have it registered with the Google webmaster tools. That might also help, when you verify it you will be able to tell better what is going on with it. But I am sure you know all that, I think there is something about this site that you are not telling us, besides the URL. You are the owner of one of the most powerful directories on the planet, an expert in SEO, and you can't get one little web site indexed by Google?

Godaddy requested Google not crawl its IP's because of server load.
|
I'm not surprised at all! Glad I moved my sites off Godaddy years ago (they can stick their godaddy where...ok..nm).

I once wanted to register a domain, and get a hosting package at godaddy.
The ordering procedure gave me RSI, and I never get to complete the order.

Well, this explains a lot. Everyone complaining about not getting crawled, and, one of my own clients that says a site that I sold him..that he moved to a go daddy server, (Why I don't know, we had it on a dedicated IP) saying that it's not performing well.
That makes a lot of sense now.
Thanks John.

i was surprise that godaddy told Google not to crawl or index site that are hosted with them...
It is not only evil... it is stupid... no one will host with them if googlebot is not going to visit...
No googlebot = No Free traffic
