Godaddy Hosting Blocking Googlebot
Godaddy hosted sites have been dropping from the Google index for a while now - Google has confirmed that Godaddy requested Google not crawl its IP's because of server load.
Godday trying to put its hosting clients out of business?

Why move domain reg? I understand moving and screaming about that stupid hosting policy, but what's the problem with their domain reg? (I use it and have seen no problems - so I'm curious).

Its about the sites that are hosted on godaddy, not domains purchased through them. Just buying a domain from godaddy won't do anything.....

Google said the domain registration doesn't affect crawling - just being hosted on their IP's.

If they wouldn't let the SE's spider me, I wouldn't even bother doing any business with them.

123cheap domains has great customer service and they don't try to scam you.
You get what you pay for.

Interesting to think that people who put hundreds of hours into their websites and spend hundreds on their webhosting are concerned about the annual cost of a domain name that amounts to less than $5 per year???
I buy my domain names where I can get the best bang for the buck just as I do my hosting.

Well, I had never heard all this about Godaddy before (I've also read the archived thread provided by John).
I bought all of my websites through Godaddy and I never received spam from then and they never tried to change the DNS back to their. Though I admit they did try to sell me hosting, popup blockers and other things while I was checking out for payment, but there always was a button to say "No, thanks".
So far I never had any problems with them and I hope this goes on like this. Of course if they begin to spam me, change my DNS or bill me more than what I've asked then I'd seriously consider another registrar.
Also this is the cheapest place I found for buying my domains. So if I had to change,
Mel: where do you buy your domains for $5 per year???

Always heard variable things abou Godaddy - and just enough to avoid them.
When it comes to buying anything I never buy the cheapest - you get what you pay for. Mid-range cost is best quality in most cases.

I'll stick up for GoDaddy. I have nearly 200 domains with them, never any problems, good tech support, and a phone rep who takes care of problems and gives further substantial discounts without much prodding.
Once you're registered you can buy new domains in a flash - sure they try to sell you a few add-ons you don't want and I'd prefer to not have to click the xtra 2-3 'no' buttons, but that seems like a reasonable business practice and I've seen none that aren't.
I'm sure some people have had bad experiences, but mine have been very good. FWIW - DPAM

Glad to see there's someone else who's had a good experience with Godaddy.
What's FWIW? I can't figure it out, sorry.
