Title tag indexing on Google
I have read that the optimal title tag length for Google is 7 words or so. My question is that if it is longer, howmuch of it is indexed by Google? I found one figure that states that Google indexes up to 1129 characters of a title. That seemed way too high... any thoughts?

It shows 64 in the results before having "...." I think this is a good target to aim for. The shorter the title the cleaner it looks.

I dont know if after the "..." are read or not.

Anywhere between 7 and 12 words is fine. If you want it to look at its best, don't make it so long that the dots appear - as Johan007 mentioned.
