I like some of the concerns raised - certainly things I'm going to consider for myself.

Google highly touts its secret PageRank algorithm. Although PageRank is just one factor in choosing what sites appear on a specific search, it is the main way that Google determines the "importance" of a website.

In recent months, SEO specialists have become expert at manipulating PageRank, particularly through link exchanges.

I don't think most SEO's wanted to manipulate PageRank. It was more of a focus on anchor text.

Yes, it is a little too skewed to examining link exchange issues - but the possibilities raised for future updates are good ideas to take into consideration - links in paragraphs, for example.
